Queen Mary 2

Maiden Sunrise

This magnificent vessel is portrauyed on the first sunrise of her maiden voyage. Having departed Southampton the evening before, she is now headed towards the Portuguese Island of Madeira. The newly risen sun bathes her vast flank in gold.

Faithfully following the Cunard tradition, the Queen Mary 2 is a worthy successor to many famous names of the past: Queen Mary (still preserved in Long Beach, California), Queen Elizabeth, Queen Elizabeth 2, Aquitania, and Mauretania, to name a few. Towering over 200 feet from the waterline, with a length of 1132 feet, and a beam of 147 feet (at the bridge), this colossal liner is the largest in the world.
Endowed with surprising onboard experiences such as a planetarium and a cultural acadamy operated by the University of Oxford, Queen Mary 2 has made a splendid step into the future for Cunard's legendary fleet.
